Many people ask us how we got started.
In 1997 my father and I decided to combine our resources and start a home construction business. I was in the middle of architecture school while my father had some experience in real estate and retail general contracting. We decided to try speculation built homes.
Our first project was the raised ranch shown below built in 1997 which was located in Lake Carmel on a street named Deerhill Lane. We combined the town name with the street name and formed Carmelhill Corporation.

As I progressed with my architecture experience we added Carmelhill Drafting Studio. The company evolved further when I received my architecture license in New York State, thus becoming Carmelhill Architects. As time moved on we registered as an architecture firm in New Jersey and Connecticut.
In 1999 we went back to our roots and completed the center hall colonial shown below in Commack.

We decided to streamline the company to EDWARD KOENIG - ARCHITECT after receiving our most recent registration in Florida because it makes sole proprietor business filings easier across all four states.
