Many people ask me how I got started.

In 1997 my father and I decided to combine our resources and start a home construction business. I was in the middle of architecture school while my father had some experience in real estate and retail general contracting. We decided to try speculation built homes.

Our first project was a raised ranch in Lake Carmel, NY  in 1997 shown below. The street name was Deerhill Lane. We combined the town name with the street name and formed Carmelhill Corporation.

As I progressed with my architecture experience I changed the name to Carmelhill Drafting Studio. The company evolved further when I received my architecture license in New York State, thus becoming Carmelhill Architects. As time progressed I obtain my architecture registration in New Jersey and Connecticut.

In 1999 I designed and built the center hall colonial shown below in Commack.

In 2021 I decided to concentrate my work in New York and Florida. I dropped my license in New Jersey and Connecticut and changed the company name to simply, EDWARD KOENIG - ARCHITECT.

I designed the house below on Mattituck Inlet, Mattituck NY, for my sister in 2021.

For the last four years I've been working in both New York and Florida on a range of residential, retain, and light commercial projects.

I'm finishing the house below in New Smyrna Beach.
